
Bernie Walasavage is an American composer born in 1989, known for his diverse musical works that span both concert compositions and film scoring. He graduated with a Bachelor of Music from Mansfield University of Pennsylvania in 2012 and a Master of Music from Western Michigan University in 2015. Walasavage’s music is particularly noted for its rich textural qualities that explore various elements of motion and form. His compositions have been described as creating sonic textures that can suspend in time, transform into cacophony, breakdown to silence, or express movement and fluidity.
His achievements include accolades for film scoring from events such as the AddAMovie Film Festival in New York City and The Indie Gathering International Film Festival in Ohio. His works have been performed by a variety of ensembles and solo artists internationally, including the Quartetto Indaco in Italy, Duo Artina in Croatia, and others across the United States and Europe.
Bernie is also a member of the Young Composers' Community (YCC), established in 2020 and based in Munich, Germany. He lives in Lancaster, Pennsylvania where he not only continues his musical pursuits but also engages in painting landscapes.
